Bowling Pins Best

Why is it important for me to bowl with a 15 lb. ball versus a 12 lb. ball?
I am a beginning bowler (male, age 32) preparing to buy my first personal ball (ie. not a house ball). I bowl straight at the pins. So far the house balls I have been using with the best success (around 100 pts./game) have been 12-13 lbs. The finger holes in a 12 lb. ball fit my fingers just right and don't leave my arm sore after bowling 3-4 games each day. I am concerned that if I move to a 15 lb. ball that it will hurt my score as well as my arm. So should I buy a 12 lb. ball or a 15 lb. ball?
It should be the highest weight your comfortable with. Obviously the heavier the ball the more force at the pins the more likely to get a strike... however if your not comfortable with a 15, learn with a 12 first... or maybe try a happy medium at 14 or so, its important to experiment at what is most comfortable for you... Also, being that your an adult male i dont think your a weak guy, it could be that your tiring from the 14/15 because its not drilled for you correctly (you said the 12 pound fits better)... Also, if you get a new ball now at 12 lb then get used to it and want to move up your going to have to get a new ball again.... i wouldnt be in a hurry at first, take the time and see what pound works best, and then talk to your local pro shop for advice, they could watch you bowl and see what ball is right for you... Make sure you get it professionally drilled for you too... Like I said if its not drilled specifically for you, you will tire out faster cuz if holes are too big your squeezing your hand so u dont drop it, and if you have it too tight obviously your hand will be swollen at the end of the night and your thumb will keep getting stuck.... Hope this helps and good luck..
