Car Decal Fade

How to remove decals off of a vehicle?
My uncle gave me his 2000 Ford Ranger so that I could use it as my first car. I never really used it, always used one of my father's vehicles (because they were much nicer, lol). My father bought me a brand new vehicle for my 18th birthday. And I have both vehicles now. I live in my own place [college]. I asked my uncle if he wanted it back, but he said I could just sell it and keep whatever money I can make off of it.
The truck is in great condition otherwise. It has a nice little navigation thing it, a nice stereo system, etc. It also only has 46,000 miles on it. Nothing is broken and I recently bought new tires for it.
So I was going to sell it, but my dilemma is the crappy decals, which are peeling and they're not too great on the eyes. They're like tribal-flame-ish, purple fading to white, on the black truck. Is there a was that I can remove them myself or should I take it to a professional?
Okay spray it with WD-40. Let it sit for a while then start to peel it. Trust with this. Hope this help!
