Coaches Board Back

Can an NFL coach ever accept a penalty which would take a touchdown for his team off the scoreboard?
A lot of times it seems like the refs don't even consult with the coach, but I have a specific example in mind: Suppose Team X is leading by 1 point with the ball in the 4th quarter and Team B is on defense with no timeouts. On 1st down Team X runs a screen pass which scores with a minute left, the extra point would put them up by 8. But wait, Team B was offsides. Rather than risk a scenario where they could be tied with a TD and 2-point conversion, can Coach X take the points off the board and get the ball back 1st & 5 and run out the clock? Or is the NFL too scared of what that would do to the gamblers?
Cancer Dude - YOU don't sound too bright. The NFL is the biggest sport in America in large part due to gambling.
LMAO!!! You didn't know the answer to this common sense, simple question and you call someone ELSE not too bright?
