Why can't girls play baseball in the states?

So on my schools football team there is one girl and everyone is so mad about it. but said she ( girls can only get on the team every once in a while ) can play because there is no "counter sport" Then a classmate of mine asked her teacher ( who is the baseball coach) if girls can play baseball. And he said very loudly "Oh no! Girls do not play baseball. They play softball the counter-sport to baseball" Why can't girls play baseball or football? Girls can be just as strong as boys in both sports. The girl on t eh football team tackled a boy and he went down like a rock. I though America was a free country? To me those rules seem so sexist. I like playing baseball and it makes me kinda mad how I can't play at my school. Why does this rule exist?

I'm getting sick I'm getting sick of this question. Seriously they should stick with softball case closed life ain't fair k. You got your girl league we got ours deal with it instead of asking this stupid question that will not solve any of your problems. I would hate to see a female in the majors cause to much media would be focused on her when she only is batting like .140 there is no female out there made for the majors period, why the heck you think there is softball?? Get a life.
