Hitting Gloves Black
A few Punching bag Q's?

the are not as heavy duty as they look. if i need gloves wich trype do you recomend?
2 its a 80lb bag filld with bunch of scraps of clothing. could i fill it with sand? i can get sand from the beach,
3. is it supposed to hurt when i punch on the lower half? and i dont even hit full force, i dont wana hit the upper part of the bag casue its to eays to hit and makes a dent very eaissly. should i get hand wraps and boxing gloves? i had the bag since xmas 09 and the gloves since early jan. i know how to hit the heavy bag, dont bend wrist, punch with the two first knucles, i kno... what should i do? i reall;y want to workout on the bag and everytime i get a pain on both my wrists
If you go to that web site and read some of the reviews on that glove some of the people that use them even say that they still tape their wrists. I suspect that you have weak ones and that you need to tape them and wrap your hands. As for your bag why is it filled with a bunch of scraps of clothing? Did you buy it used or empty some of the contents from it leaving just sand in the bottom? I would consider its construction and if you can get to the contents remove them and fill it with something like strips of foam carpet padding to give it weight while keeping it a little softer than what the bottom is now. Also does the bag have an inner liner? This is a round foam rubber liner on the inside that helps the bag retain it's shape and well made bags have one of those to prevent some of the problems you are also experiencing.
I have a couple of cheap bags that various people have given me like what you mention here that are just rock hard except for the top third of it. Most cheaply made bags are like this and a good one will be almost the same consistency from bottom to top and not so hard as like what we are referring to them here. With bags like this you can definitely hurt and bruise your hands and hurt your wrists, even with tape, hand wraps and gloves being used and you might want to look at changing what that bag is filled with or get a better bag.
