Screen Safety Net

Problem with eeepc booting?
Recently my EEEPC won't boot it gets to a little screen that says things like Hardware not compatible when no installations have been made its all standard. I wanted to know if any of you had any ides of a way out of this issue the OS before was XP there is no way that I know of on how to access the OS as all safety options fail. Such as safe mode safe mode net etc. Tried em all. So I was wondering is there a way to install another OS through memory stick. Or do i have to buy an external CD drive and install Linux again (think im stayin with Linux from now on.)
After XP was installed a while back I removed an SD card from the side to use in a camera I didn't think you could install an OS to a 2GB SD card but that is the only change to the laptop after XP was installed.
If you need any more details just ask.
I have had that problem before, it is the hard drive that is messed up (it probably got overheated while you weren't paying attention). For now you should install the software that came with your PC. It would be on a disk that came in the box. Try that for a few months, then if you keep having problems get a new hard drive. I would go to FRY's Electronics or any type of store similar.
