Please help me with this problem, I don't know what to do and I am flying by myself!!?

Okay so I have a sports duffel bag that I will check in, but I also have a small bag, smaller than a book bag and my laptop, will American Airlines let me take both my small bag and my laptop with me on the plane? thanks and i appreciate your help

Yes, you can take both. American Airlines allows you to take a carry-on bag (like your small book bag) and one personal item (which can be a purse, briefcase, laptop case, etc). You shouldn't have any trouble taking both on board.
